Meet Antione Trent LCSW CAADC PA-C

Outpatient Psychotherapist and Psychiatric Physician Assistant

For over 13 years, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate mental health and substance use challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a client-centered approach. My journey began as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, where I provided therapy services for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns. During this time, I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and specialized in substance use disorder counseling, supporting clients through recovery with empathy, accountability, and hope.

To strengthen my impact in addiction treatment, I earned the Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) credential through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). This certification reflects my commitment to excellence in addressing substance use disorders and my ability to integrate both therapeutic and practical strategies in recovery work. Over the years, I have had the privilege to help individuals heal from the devastating effects of addiction while building sustainable pathways to wellness.

Expanding my scope of practice, I transitioned into a career as a Psychiatric Physician Assistant after training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In this role, I provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and medical-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals with opioid use disorder. I work collaboratively with patients to create tailored treatment plans that address both their mental health and substance use needs, ensuring that care is holistic and accessible. My experience in both psychotherapy and psychiatry allows me to bridge the gap between behavioral and medical treatment, offering an integrated approach to recovery.

At the core of my practice is a client-centered philosophy. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools for change, and I strive to create genuine connections with each patient. By fostering trust, respect, and collaboration, I empower individuals to take an active role in their healing. My strength lies in meeting patients where they are, providing care that is compassionate yet structured, and guiding them toward meaningful and lasting change.
